Sometimes you know you're going to like a band, just by watching them set up. Lots of equipment? Check. Drum kit? Two, in fact. Ah, even better. Keyboards? One old analog organ, three casio-types, a power book, a drum machine, and a serious mixing board. Guitars? Of course, two electric and a bass. That it? Nope, the hot female singer also fiddled with a violin as well as one of the little toy keyboards that you have to breath into to get it to work. The thing is, however, that they all move about setting things up with purpose, and it avoids turning into the worlds longest sound check. Which, I've been to.
So, they finally start. Was the sound as good as the build up?
Hell yeah, fucking brilliant.
They're the Swords Project, and they're from Portland.
