So, I was watching cable news this evening, and I saw a piece about the recent fall in unemployment and the smaller-than-expected number of jobs added (53,000 vs. 150,000 or so). One of the factors that will determine how fast jobs are added is productivity. The more effective existing hires are at doing their job, the less need there is to hire now people. So, if productivity doesn't slow down from its current fast pace, it will take longer to replace all the jobs lost over the course of the recession. My solution, massive laziness. If we all pitch in and take steps to reduce productivity, businesses will need to hire more people and unemployment will drop. So, get out there and take a nap. Or have a few beers at lunch. Whatever you can do to help our economy get better, so we can reelect George W. Bush.

On second thought, get back to work you lazy bastards.
