popular mechanics for lovers

i know he knocks you off your feet
you're so bitter you think he's sweet
well he's wrong for you i swear

did you forget to read the script?
there was never a role for him
it was always you and me
-just me

popular mechanics for broken hearts
could help me now

i know you never felt romance
and we always lacked suppense
i can edit those parts out

i never made you feel complete
i could fall right beneathe your feet
i would never bring you down
-so down

popular mechanics for broken hearts
could help me now

just because he loves you too
he would never take a bullet for you
don't believe a word he says
he would never cut his heart out for you

i heard he wrote you a song
but so what? some guy wrote sixty-nine
and one just ain't enough
and there's no sense even trying
i know cause i've been trying all the time
for something to make you mine
but might i ever find our love?
with cliches that don't ryhmne

popular mechanics for broken hearts
could help me now

just because he loves you too
he would never take a bullet for you
don't believe a word he says
he would never cut his heart out for you

So, I saw Beulah last night at the Casbah with John Vanderslice and Bunky. The show was great. Beulah played this song, which is prolly my favorite on of theirs. Cliches that don't rhyme pretty much sums up how I feel about my own songwriting. (yes, M., how emo, I know) Bunky were cool. They're a San Diego band, so I'll be keeping an eye on the next time they play around here.

The Chiefs won again today. 5-0. I watched the game with V, one of the new first year grad students and fellow football (american version) fan. It was a trip to hang out with a girl from Mexico City who follows the NFL almost as much as I do. Still, it was fun; the Chiefs won.
